Shrimpy’s on St. Patrick’s

Three short plays will be presented March 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Shrimpy’s, 2501 Sudderth. The plays, written by Lyn Kidder, will be presented March 20 at the Theater New Mexico annual conference in Artesia.

Even though it’s St. Patrick’s Day, audience members will notice a Christmas theme, Kidder said. “That’s easy to explain–I wrote them all in December, so it was on my mind.” Actors in the three plays–”Halftime,” “Sisters” and “Innkeeper”–are Kidder, Pam Witte, Lori Lamphere and Rick Wood, owner of Shrimpy’s. All have appeared in Lincoln County Community Theater productions.

“Working with an audience is very important for actors,” Kidder continued. “This performance will be our dress rehearsal before the competition in Artesia.”

Audience members can order from the menu from 6 to 7 p.m., with the show beginning at 7:30. “We have to give Rick a chance to take off his apron and get ready to go on stage.”

Seating is limited but can be reserved by calling 257-8881.
