Dianne Doan Dianne began working in watercolor several years ago, fulfilling
a lifelong dream. “I love the soft ethereal quality of
watercolors, and marvel at those who are able to express their
perceptions of our world through that medium. I am learning to
let the paint lead the way, working with it to achieve the
feeling I want to convey. My style, sometimes soft and sometimes
wild, can best be described as expressionistic.”Oils are a new favorite for Dianne, and acrylics and mixed media collage are also used in her work. New Mexico landscapes, buildings, “critters”, and interesting people are frequent subjects of her paintings. Living in San Patricio provides the perfect setting for artistic endeavors. “I am enjoying focusing more time on painting as I work to develop the patience and reflection it requires.” Dianne has studied with several area artists including Patsy Blasdell, Paula White, Ann Templeton, Dee Wescott, and Ardis Hood. Their varying styles have all contributed to her work. 137 White Cat Road |
