Gallery Walks:

Creative Writing for Kids with Anne Twite
Six consecutive Tuesdays: May 27, June 3, 10, 17, 24, July 1
9am – 10am
Ages 8-10
Tuition: $100

A six-week workshop designed to introduce kids to several types of writing. We’ll cover brainstorming and journaling, personal narratives and stories, interviews and news stories, poems, and more! Each meeting will have several short, FUN activities to boost creativity and encourage sharing. Parents are invited to our final class to hear the kids read one of their written works. Great materials included. Class limit: 20

Klay 4 Kids with Carol Alvarado
June 12 – One-day workshop

This a great creative summer art workshop for children featuring a variety of clay projects including mosaic, painted pottery, and hands-on-clay activities.  Parents should provide a painting shirt, snack and drink.  There is an additional $10 supply fee for materials.

Down at the Old Mill with Delana Clements and Deborah Wenzel
June 28 – One-day workshop
Times: 12am-Noon, 1pm-3pm
Ages: ALL ages welcome!
Tuition: FREE!

Come learn some of the beautiful history of Ruidoso’s Old Mill and enjoy a plein air session featuring the old wheel. Bring your own drawing/painting materials and an open mind! This will not be “instructional”, per se, but an opportunity to get together and have fun.

Quilt Magic Workshop with Elaine Alarid
July 1, 2, 3 – One-day workshop (but come to as many as you like!)
10:00am – 11:30am
Ages: 7-100 (must be able to use scissors to cut fabric)
Tuition: $30

No sewing, no gluing, no stapling required! Come create a fun quilt block wall hanging. A knife-like (safe) tool will be used to tuck the fabric into a laser pre cut foam block. Materials included. Extra quilt blocks will be available for sale.

Kid Kollage with Suzy Komara
July 14, 15, 17, 18 – One-day workshop (but you can attend as many as you want!)

A wonderfully whimsical and creative workshop! Along with collage, we’ll have fun with rubber stamps and lots of scrap things. Come for one, two, three, or all four days!

Got Puppets? with Barbara Lane
July 21-25 – Five-day workshop
3:30 – 5:00pm
Ages: 10-14
Tuition: $100

Down on your knees, hand in the puppet, and ready to go! This week-long workshop will explore the basic skills behind the art of puppetry. We’ll cover the 5 Basics, “puppet aerobics,” skits, and songs. The final class will include a performance for family/friends. Materials (your own little furry friend to keep) included! Class limit: 15

Kid’s Art Camp offered at ENMU
June 23-26
1:00 – 4:00pm
Ages: 8-12
Tuition: $65

Join us for a one-week creative adventure in art! Each day features a different theme, and a variety of art mediums will be explored. Materials included.

Watercolor Experiments with Marty Lane
Dates July 23-25 – Three-day workshop
10am-3pm
Ages: 15-Adult
Tuition: $100

This three-day workshop will consist of numerous watercolor experiments that will aid the participant in a familiarity with this flexible and fun medium. The workshop begins with experiments in the basics of color-mixing, brush handling, and value. Subsequent days will consist of experiments in landscape, still life, and pen and ink with watercolor among others. There will be daily group critiques. Bring a sack lunch.

This workshop will be at least 50% new material from last year’s workshop.

Class limit: 10
