DIANE GREMILLION

Ruidoso Regional Council For The Arts

Diane Gremillion

As long as I can remember, I have always enjoyed drawing or painting anything that captures my eye. I received my very first private oil painting lesson at 10 years old and then I continued to learn more about art in various forms throughout junior and high school.

In 1983, I was admitted to Richmond University in England where I received my formal art education. Having had the opportunity to see art in Europe made my dream come true. In 1987, I received my BA in Studio Art with a concentration in Drawing. I studied drawing/painting under the direction of Dr. Ralph Lillford and Dr. John Dickerson.

After having lived in a small quaint village in the countryside of England for four years, my love and admiration for cottages and homes grew stronger everyday. I began a series of pen & ink drawings of the quaint English villages primarily as a form of enjoyment as well as for memorable purposes.

I started doing house portraits on a commissioned basis in various mediums right after I moved back to the States almost 20 years ago. My paintings have traveled to homes around the world. As an artist, it is my desire to create a painting that portrays beauty in its own way. I only hope that my work gives you as much pleasure as I have had creating it.
