MARTY LANE

Ruidoso Regional Council For The Arts

Marty Lane is 30-year resident of Ruidoso; her studio, Painted Surfaces, is in Ruidoso Downs. She studied art at Kansas City Art Institute and Central New Mexico State University, and worked as an animation artist for Calvin Films in Kansas City.

Marty’s primary medium for about 12 years has been watercolor. She has received awards in numerous shows sponsored by the Mew Mexico Watercolor Society and has been a signature member of the Society since 2000. In addition, Marty’s work has been exhibited at the 2000 NWNM Art Council show in Farmington, NM; several times at the Hubbard Museum, including the Lincoln County Millennium Show, which held its final exhibition at the Capitol building in Santa Fe. She has been a part of Art in Public Places, Art in the Pines, and a number of other exhibits.

From large, elegant watercolors to bold, chili-themed floorcloths, Marty Lane’s work offers a fresh look on the created world.

A selection of Marty’s original watercolors are on display at Josie’s Framery in Ruidoso; her floorcloths and other home décor are offered at Imagine That Gallery, Imports, Etc., and Seasons Nursery and Gifts. Her work is also displayed at the RRCA Gallery. Her studio, located in the Downs, is open by appointment.
